Ejercicio 1

Exercise 1 precedes Observatorio (2014). It is an installation situated in the exact place where the city of Coyhaique was founded in the early 20th century, in the ruins of what was the Aysén Industrial Society (SIA). Currently, this National Historic Monument has been restored, and it serves as the site for the Aysén Regional Museum.
Exercise 1 explores the subject position (its connected bidimensionality inside/outside) in relation to the local architectural structure. From the particularities of the historic-territorial context, emerges a bonding between the identitary construction, the memory and the new.
This work was part of the group show “Trapananda” (2014), curated by Alfons Hug.
Ejercicio 1 antecede a Observatorio (2014). Es una instalación situada en el lugar donde se fundó la ciudad de Coyhaique a comienzos del siglo XX, en las ruinas de lo que fue la Sociedad Industrial de Aysén (SIA). Hoy en día, este Monumento Histórico Nacional ha sido restaurado y alberga el Museo Regional de Aysén.
Ejercicio 1 explora la posición del sujeto (su bidimensionalidad encontrada de interior y exterior) en relación con la estructura arquitectónica local. Surge de las particularidades del contexto histórico-territorial, un vínculo con la memoria y lo nuevo en la construcción de una identidad.
